And just to be sure, here's the full version which involves falling down the stairs. :D

How is it possible that this video never stops being friggin' hilarious??? I swear, it gets exponentially funnier every time I watch it. I think when the banner gets an update, we really need to include a roller skating Raptors mascot in it.

This is the greatest day in the history of Basketbawful. And incidentally, also the greatest day in the history of the Raptors.

It's so awesome.

Dan B.: We're in luck.

ANIGIF VERSION of Raptor Mascot Loses Control!!!!!!!!

Blogger chris said...
And just for you Dan: the Raptor Mascot attempting the Mark Gormley Powerstance.

I think this is a faster-framerate anigif of the awesome that is and always will be Raptor Mascot Loses Control.

Intense.

Slow ass news day. The only thing to do is live follow Steve Jobs being a pretentious ass and dodging questions.

Blogger AnacondaHL said...
Oh hey, check this out. It's Gentry's comments on Amar'e and others, and Amar'e's full page ad in the Arizona Republic thanking the Suns fans (PDF). It's classy like Dan and LeBron, only, y'know, with actual class.

Blogger chris said...
AnaconadaHL: It's too bad that "classiness" will not make up for Apostrophe telling Craig Sager that he "always gives 100%" to basketball, only to go 3-13 in Game 6 a few nights later. ;)

Blogger AnacondaHL said...
chris - Eh, I'm fine with it like this. Works well for the dumb people of Phoenix and for the smart fans. Good luck to the New York Knicks Medical Staff.

Blogger AnacondaHL said...
Non sequitur - Did you know the Kings still have the #6 - The Fans number retired?

Blogger Ash said...
Waitaminute... what happened to a year end lacktion report? Like, a big stat sheet of who got the most Voskhuls, Marios, etc? Lacktion MVP?

Or did I miss that post? I'll kick myself if I did.

Blogger Dan B. said...
Ash -- Don't worry, you haven't missed it. We just haven't had time to crunch numbers and put it together yet.

Blogger chris said...
Ash: Thanks for the reminder, Dan and I will work on it some time. :D

AnacondaHL: I'm sure Oscar Robertson is thrilled that "The Fans" are in the rafters with his #. :p

Oh, and I assume the dumb folks in Phoenix are the ones who actually bought Apostrophe's "dedication" spiel. Of course, also buying said spiel was the Dolans!

Blogger Jason D said...
Don't know if this has been posted yet, but this is Steve Carrell and Paul Rudd mocking the decision. Pretty damn hilarious.

P.S how do you hyperlink these things?

Blogger chris said...
Wojnarowski laying LOTS of smack on King Crab's primadonna behavior that has essentially been planned not "the day of the Decision," but for what, four years....

@Jason D:

type: Type stuff here that will be hyperlinked then close off the tag with this:

Dan B: second the Raptor fail getting funnier with each successive viewing and move to permanently link the .gif posted by chris on the side bar of this blog.

Right now ESPN Classic is showing Game 4 of the Pistons-Nets series from 2004 a.k.a. Scalabrine's finest hour.

@Jason D:

Well shit I linked my answer to your question :( use the HTML tag a href="..." /a

Blogger Dan B. said...
Here's an example of how you'd type the HTML code in your comment to create a link. Just use < and > instead of [ and ], and hit Preview before you post to make sure it worked:

[a href="http://www.whateverlink.com"]Here is an example link[/a]

There was a parallel to this betrayal. In WWE. And someone transposed their heads with the trio.

LeBron flips out on Cavs fans

AK Dave, Dan B.,

Thanks for the help, much appreciated. Now I just need to find something worth linking lol.

Just a thought, is anyone else at all interested what it would be like if Shaq rejoined the Lakers I know it won't happen and as a Laker fan I pray it doesn't happen but wierder things have happened. (Yes, it is a very boring off-season now the FA hype is over).

Blogger chris said...
Jason D.: It'll be like C-Webb's second tour of duty in East Oakland, right? LOL.

AK Dave: The Raptor Mascot Loses Control anigif belongs in the banner as much as Scalabrine or Agent Zero do, which is to say that if the Bawful Hall Of Fame was built on the site of Matt McHale: Technical Writer's Infamous Grudge Match Against The Force Of Nature That Is Cricket's Son Ryan, that mascot would be the only inductee of the inaugural class!!!!!

Anonymous Barry said...
I don't remember who did the new banner, but if he's reading this.....please get the mascot in it.

Ouch. Looks like LeBron truely IS LeBrat

Blogger Jason D said...
Chris: lol, it'd probably end up worse haha. I can picture it already. Halfway through the season, Shaq has been playing around 10-15 min a game and all of a sudden he somehow breaks a thumb or toe or some small thing. Now he's getting paid to sit courtside and watch a basketball game, like he has for half his career anyways.

The best part of the Raptop-mascot fail is how the tail, after the crash, stands up straight for a second but then deflates, like it's surrendering.

Anaconda: "Good luck to the New York Knicks Medical Staff." <-- I second that. I have a friend who keeps trying to tell me that the Suns' conditions in their contract offer were "disrespectful and a slap in the face" to Amar'e. Seriously? This is a guy with a 40-year-old's knees, and the Suns weren't supposed to at least try and cover their ass a little?

I love Amar'e and the part he played in bringing Phoenix basketball back to the national limelight, but dude, I'm amazed he made it through the last two seasons without another major setback.

If that was your week than I'm not sure what's worse: falling on your face or having to be a Toronto Raptor.

Blogger chris said...
Clifton: Remember how Apostrophe ignored his doctors' advice originally when it came to wearing goggles...and then found out the hard way the doctors were right?

Jason D.: See, he's not all too different from the, um, celebrated subject of this post. ;)

Blogger chris said...
BTW, if Bill Walton ever witnessed the greatness that is Raptor Mascot Loses Control, he would say the following:

"I can tell you, Hubie, that this mascot succinctly proves how inaccurate Spielberg's documentary 'The Lost World' was. Again. What's next, a musical comedy based on the Great War? Oh wait, that antimatter compared to such classics as Gone With The Wind and Sunset Boulevard came out the year I signed my mind-blowing contract with Donald Sterling."

Anonymous Mladen said...
The Wojnarowski piece sounds like bitter, slanderous hear-say to me... I was half-expecting him to attach some photoshopped images of James with Hitler's (or M.J.'s?) moustache, at a concentration camp, or something.

Like Anaconda said, the next few months will be a LeBron hate-fest, but after the Heat start kicking ass, more and more people will be quick to forget "the many ways in which Le*insert lame pun* wronged them"...

Blogger AnacondaHL said...
Clifton - Fun trivia: # of games STAT missed through 2010 season: 140. # of games missed by Yao including all 82 games of the 2010 season: 175. Not including playoffs, and of course habitual injuries vs freak accidents, but the point remains. Use this fun trivia when describing his injuries.

Anonymous aK Dave said...
@chris: do you write for Walton? If you don't- you should send him a sample and see if he'll hire you :D

Blogger chris said...
AnacondaHL: Well, there is also the possibility of "habitual freak accidents..."

AK Dave: "Dave, your praise reminds me of the time Larry Bird returned my phone call in '86 and thus changed the fate of the universe forever by guaranteeing me a second Association title. Had he not done so in magnanimous fashion, I would be sitting here today watching my undertalented offspring have 200% the titles I do, and moreover, Lamar Odom wouldn't have had an excellent model on how to escape the grasp of that feudal organization based in Mr. Sterling's cluttered penthouse."
